Yemen Liquid Natural Gas Company are constructing a pipeline from the interior gas fields to the coast at Ras Balhaf in Shabwa province where they are constructing a liquefation plant and an export facility. The Plant and export facility security zones will impact on the fishermen of the region who will have to develop alternative fishing strategies. An MEP team evaluated the effect on the fishery and advised YLNG on a package of measures to compensate fishermen and their communities.
