An MEP Director had a major input into the establishment of the FAO INFOSAMAK Fish Marketing Information Service headquartered in Bahrain. Work undertaken included identification and development of information and funding sources, advice to Arab member countries on commercial opportunities. Also the establishment of various trade exhibitions and training seminars. He also participated in the UNDP/FAO Review Mission of the INFOSAMAK Project Performance and, in this respect, visited all the Gulf countries, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.
