MEP provided a resource economist to participate in a team assessing the aquaculture potential of the Black Sea: Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Romania, Turkey. The team, together with experts from each of the six riparian countries, investigated the technical, economic, environmental, legislative and social factors affecting aquaculture development in the region. In particular, the MEP expert contributed a financial assessment of existing and planned operations, together with an investigation into the marketing considerations involved.
