An MEP team of naval architect and fisheries expert carried out the first phase of a fishing vessel improvement programme in Northern Brazil. Improve-nts to indigenous fishing craft were designed. MEP staff trained boatbuilders and fishermen in con-truction, maintenance and operation of the new craft.
