An MEP staff member joined the GEF Coastal Zone Management Unit to develop guidelines for environmentally-responsible coastal aquaculture. Together with a local consultant, the MEP specialist conducted a review of current and potential impacts of aquaculture and provided guidance on (i) land-use planning aspects of shrimp and finfish culture; (ii) environmental planning and assessment in the CZM; and (iii) training in EIA procedures for aquaculture development.
