This evaluation for the Studies and Support Services to the Common Fisheries Policy will involve a review of existing literature on the relationships between different types of public subsidies to the fisheries sector and their impact on the marine environment. It will cover the link between damage to non-commercial stocks and broader environmental issues. A computerised database of such published work will be developed and an analysis made of the main factors at play. The different types of subsidy will be categorised in terms of their impact on marine resources.
