An MEP naval architect designed an inter island transport vessel for shallow water operation. The vessel was shipped to Guinea in kit form for assembly in the Bijagos Islands. The kit was prepared by MEP staff to include all hull and deck members, machinery and ancillary equipment as well as specialist tools not available in Guinea. The vessel was constructed and machinery installed by local labour, sea trials were supervised by MEP.
