A small scale fisheries consultant and master fisherman visited the Biombo region of Guinea Bissau together with a team from the Ministry of Planning and Pescarte. A detailed fisheries development plan was designed and agreed. Project site plans were drawn up and the buildings constructed. A team of boatbuilder, master fisherman and fish processing / marketing consultant commenced the implementation of a fisheries development programme in early 1987.
