At the request of the Bay of Bengal Project, a staff member of MEP experienced in sailmaking visited the project area to advise on materials available for sailmaking and sailing rigs appropriate to the local and project fishing vessels. Based in Madras, areas visited included Bangladesh, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka.
