MEP were joint venture partners with a Kenyan company in the setting up and early operation of a shrimp farm in Kenya. Both companies were also involved in the marketing of the product in domestic and European markets. MEP were originally requested to conduct a feasibility study into the rehabilitation and expansion of a coastal shrimp farm site. MEP aquaculture experts surveyed the site and detailed all requirements to re-establish production and were then requested to become joint venture partners to continue to provide technical guidance to the project. This was agreed and supported by the Centre for Industrial Development in Brussels.
