MEP conducted a detailed study of a proposed tuna fishing joint venture, to include the historical and current state of the fishery, foreign vessel licensing, regional policy and estimated yields and financial considerations for a managed resource, fleet size and vessel type, and profitability. Potential benefits of the proposed joint venture were calculated and a draft joint venture agreement prepared.
