FAO Lake Malawi Research Project required a steel catamaran research vessel. An MEP boatbuilder erected a boatyard, procured all materials and constructed the vessel. FAO staff were trained in building techniques, repair and maintenance of the vessel and its machinery. Following sea trails, MEP handed over the vessel to the Research Project.
