The objectives of the project are two-fold: (i) to develop strategies for the conservation of biological diversity within the ROPME (Arabian/Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman) and PERSGA (Red Sea and Gulf of Aden) regions and (ii) the preparation of a protocol for the conservation, protection and management of marine and coastal diversity and representative, unique or highly sensitive habitats for each region. MEP's specialist assisted through the formulation of a concept paper for the strategy followed by the preparation of the draft protocols.
