An MEP team managed the Kambia Fisheries Development Project in northern Sierra Leone. The project introduced alternative propulsion by diesel engines and auxiliary sail to the local fishing fleet. It also improved fish handling, processing and basic hygiene in fishing communities. The team consisted of a naval architect, boat builder, master fisherman, sociologist and economist. 06 March 2000
