Formulation of a strategic plan for the development of aquaculture in marine and brackish waters in Turkey. The plan included a detailed survey of the entire Turkish coastline in terms of physical, biological and meteorological conditions; selection of suitable areas and sites for marine aquaculture; outline design and costing of project profiles for aquaculture projects; detailed assessment of environmental implications and coastal zone planning; analysis of socio-economic conditions in coastal areas and benefits of aquaculture; assessments of markets for farmed species; generation of an overall strategy for the sub-sector.
