A market economist reported on the possible commercial fishing and other associated projects. Information was gathered during visits to the major fishing, processing and marketing centres in all the Emirates, in addition to meetings with government officials and a review of the available literature. Fish landings, exports and imports of fish and fishery products, as well as consumption patterns in the UAE, were analysed with a view to estimating market demand up to the year 2000.
