Eia For Aggregate Dredging
Region: Europe
Country: United Kingdom
Date: 1993
Funded By: Private Council
In a number of separate projects in the North Sea, English and Bristol Channels, MEP investigated the likely impact of aggregate extraction on the aquatic environment, with particular focus upon fisheries. Studies into the effect of dredging and suspended solids on spawning and feeding behaviours were made: impact statements of the effect on fish populations and their related fisheries, including sensitive shellfish operations, and mitigation measures were identified.
