MEP’s global portfolio of projects is rich and diverse, with a strong presence in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In 2018, we built upon our decades of successful work in Moçambique in particular, by establishing our sister company, MEP Moçambique, Lda. Based in Maputo, the company has focused its efforts on enhancing local livelihoods through community-based fisheries and aquaculture projects, while also leading the revision of the country’s fisheries legislation and corresponding implementation strategy.
Our extensive experience in fisheries livelihoods in Moçambique has been pivotal since our establishment in 2018. We have developed and implemented programs that significantly enhance community engagement and capacity building. Our deep local knowledge and established relationships have been crucial in understanding and addressing the unique challenges faced by the fishing communities.
