In November 2019 under MEP’s ongoing work for Total’s Mozambican ‘Diversified Fisheries Pilot Program’, a specialist team led by Stephen Akester, successfully deployed three Fishing Aggregation Devices outside of Palma Bay at 300m water depth.

The locations of the three FADs were selected based on consideration of proximity to bathymetric features, that should promote fish aggregation, water depth, bottom profile and benthic substrata, and proximity to shore to support access by fishers.
