The Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar has contracted MEP to develop, in close consultation with the Department of Fisheries (DoF) of Myanmar, a detailed technical and operational proposal for the introduction of a Vessel Monitoring system (VMS).
Developing a detailed technical and operational proposal for the introduction of a Vessel Monitoring system (VMS), the agreed strategy is to source an up to date VMS system for DoF through a lease agreement whereby a modern VMS service would be made available to the already established DoF VMS centre in Naypyitaw over a web connection. The project is about to move onto the next stage, which includes development of the standard operating procedures and assistance of procurement and commissioning of inshore patrol vessels.
