MacAlister Elliott & Partners Limited (MEP) were contracted by the Government of Oman, to investigate the issues relating to fishermen who had been displaced from their usual grounds by the port construction.
MEP spent time with the fishermen, carried out structured interviews and an economic review of the fishery and organised a workshop where the port authorities and the fishermen were present. Alternative livelihoods were identified to replace lost fishing income.
