MEP are providing fisheries liaison and loss adjustment services for those fishers affected by the Hythe Ranges Sea Defence project.

Van Oord, working in partnership with Mackley and on behalf of the Environment Agency, commenced work in Spring 2020 to improve flood defences between the Dymchurch Redoubt and Fisherman’s Beach. This involved refurbishing and raising the timber groynes, placing a rock revetment around the redoubt and recharging the shingle beach with over half a million tons of shingle.

38,000t of imported rock was shipped to the site via a coaster, before being transferred to a barge for delivery to the foreshore (see photographs attached)
